Our Little Cruelties – Liz Nugent

Book: Our Little Cruelties
Author: Liz Nugent
Rating: ⭐️3.5/5⭐️

The story follows the Drumm brothers. Throughout their lives, Will, Brian and Luke have always been in competition with one another. They’ve competed for their mother’s love, status, money, fame and women. The book starts off with the three brothers being present at a funeral, however, only one of them lies in the coffin.

I am well and truly in my Liz Nugent era! I only have one book of hers left to go and then I’m done!

It took me a while to get into this, I did find the first half quite slow. However, I thought the second half of the book was incredible!

The book is full of glamour and I felt like I was getting scandalous news about a famous family first hand.

The story is told between the three brothers POVs sometimes the story is a little repetitive at times when the same event is mentioned from a different perspective. This is just a personal preference thing, I know some of you will love that!

I thought it was written really well and the three brothers were so different yet equally interesting to read about! The story is totally different from her other books, Liz is no one trick pony!

I think my main complaint about this book is just that it’s my least favourite of the four that I’ve read. Liz Nugent’s books are all a safe bet, I’ve enjoyed them all!

Stayed tuned for my review of Lying in Wait!
