The Housemaid – Freida McFadden

Book: The Housemaid
Author: Freida McFadden
Rating: ⭐️4.5/5

I am literally the last person to read this book but just incase you’ve not read this book either, it follows main character Millie who gets a job as a housemaid (shock) working for wealthy couple Nina and Andrew. However, as soon as she starts working there, some major red flags start to appear.

After reading this, I can see what the fuss is about, it is incredibly addictive. It’s fast paced with relatively short punchy chapters and there’s a little romance scattered within the story so there is something for everyone.

Now the actors in the screen adaptation have been announced it was fun imagining the actors while reading along too.

There were some great shocking twists but I didn’t give this book 5 stars as I felt the twists came out of nowhere, I would have liked some more subtle hints scattered earlier on in the story.

I was initially intrigued how this possibly could have been made into a series and now I get it and need book 2 yesterday!

Please check the trigger warnings before picking this up.
