A Court of Thorns and Roses – Sarah J. Maas

Book: A Court of Thorns and Roses
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Rating: ⭐️3.5/5⭐️

In the past I have said that I wouldn’t be caught dead reading this and to send help if you see me reading it. However, FOMO got the better of me!

Pretty much everyone knows what this is about so I won’t fill you in on the blurb for this one. The plot kind of loosely reminded me of a cross between Beauty and the Beast and Twilight with a touch of Hunger Games thrown in towards the end.

I thought the first half of this was really slow but loads of you and my friends told me to push through. Once I got to the 50% mark it definitely improved and the last 150 pages were really good!

I’m not going to lie, I went into this thinking it would be a boring, predictable, vomit inducing romance with some fairy porn thrown into the mix but actually the story had a lot more about it.

It was a welcome palette cleanser to break up all the thrillers I read and I am definitely going to give book 2 a chance!
