The Ghostwriter – Julie Clark

Book: The Ghostwriter
Author: Julie Clark
Star Rating: ⭐️4/5⭐️

Ghostwriter Oliva is in a financial predicament and has no choice but to ghostwriter her estranged father’s last book. Her father is the famous horror writer Vincent Taylor, famous not only for his novels, but for being the prime suspect in the brutal slaying of his siblings.

I was so intrigued by this book after seeing so many rave reviews and it did not disappoint. It’s dark, atmospheric and twisty.

The plot of this reminded me a little bit of Burnt After Reading by Catherine Ryan Howard but I definitely enjoyed this book more.

The story covers complex family dynamics and relationships and I felt the characters were particularly fleshed out compared to a lot of books.

It’s quite a slow burn mystery but I was never bored. It has definitely made me want to check out more from this author!
